We now also have draught beer! We try to keep interesting, so our tap handles change often. We have four, so if you love beer on tap, you’ll find you’ve come to the right place.
$3.00
Chang Beer Because it’s made from pure, deep well water that is actually bottled and sold by itself. You can tell how pure it is right away. This is Thailand’s top-selling Thai beer and a symbol of Thai culture amongst discerning beer drinkers. Chang means elephant which stands for mental capacity and strength. It’s also a big part of our logo.
Full Sail Session Lager Because when we’re in the mood for an easy drinker at a nice price, this is where we turn. Lightly malty with some spicy hops. The hops contribute some bitterness, but the beer is overall evenly balanced on the sweet-bitter continuum. “Session” means you can and should drink a lot in a row. Full Sail was started by 2 guys in Oregon who have really overcome the odds. Plus, cool grenade-like bottles.
Rolling Rock Because even though it’s a lot like other American-style macro-lagers, it has a clean taste and a great bottle with a horse on it and a legend attached to the “33” that makes you cooler if you know it.
Lion’s Head Because, from the rebus on the cap, to the growling lion on the front. It’s been going strong since 1905, surviving prohibition by temporarily turning into cereal beer. It uses only American ingredients.
$5.00
Crispins English Dry Cider Because Jack loves English Cider, and it’s the best one he’s had since he’s been back in the USA.
Hoegaarden Because a Milkman started it, and when InBev bought it and announced it would move to a really big facility, protests forced them to keep it in Hoegaarden. Power to the people!
Guinness Because the Irish are lucky enough to be on this list.
Young’s Double Chocolate Stout Because big chocolatey beer makes us happy to be alive sometimes. It makes you feel like an Aztec Chieftain.
Highland Brewing Company Kashmir IPA This double hopped IPA is not overpoweringly bitter, but has a bite. Perfect for a cold winter night.
$4.00
Ace Perry Cider Because it’s different from others you might have had. Out of a specially-designed micro cider mill, from a base of 100% pure, Graton apple juice, Pear juice is added for a distinctive taste: fresh and natural.
Bitburger Because it’s German for “beer.”
Starr Hill “Love” Master Brewer Mark Thompson asked a friend to show him some love by letting him borrow the yeast he’d smuggled from Germany, and this beer was born. It’s an unfiltered wheat beer, AKA, hefeweizen, distinguished by an extremely light body and hints of banana and clove. Our favorite hefeweizen we’ve ever tasted made in Virginia.
Wolavers IPA We chose this IPA over others because it’s family owned, 100% organic, lovely and from Vermont. It’s got an unusual nose that combines citrusy hops and toasty malt. It starts sweet and centers nice and bitter the way a good IPA should.
Legend Brown Ale Out of Richmond’s best commercial microbrew, if you like a full-bodied ale, this one’s for you. This is a staff favorite for its rich, malt-foreward flavor with a beautiful mahogany tone. Legend says “generous amounts of specialty malts bring flavors of sweet caramel, toasted nuts, coffee, and molasses, all perfectly balanced by a steady but cautious hop dryness.” Fruity undertones provided by Legend’s house yeast round out this world class ale.
Stella Artois Leuven has been brewing since 1366, but in 1926, they introduced this wonderful beer as a Christmas drink. It became so popular that now it’s drunk at every cause for celebration. Look for the horn on the label, symbolizing the brewery’s original name, Den Hoorn, and the frame that is meant to look like traditional Flemish Architecture.
St. George Porter From Virginia, this beer is popular locally and in Ethiopia (we know because we have friends who travel). If it’s good enough to make it half way across the world, then it’s good enough for our menu.
Palm It’s Beligan beauty in a bottle.
BreckenRidge Vanilla Porter While most vanilla beers are sweet and sugary, this one has just the right amount of hops to make a great companion to any meal or sipable on its own.
$8.00
Old Rasputin Oatmeal Stout
Dark as hell from Russia via California
$9.00
Duvel
because it’s one of the best beers of all time and is a must for an elegant celebration.
